The main language spoken in Venice is Italian.

Some people speak the dialect Venetian. It is a romance language belonging to a different language branch than Italian, and was spoken frequently in the past throughout the Veneto region of Italy. It was the official language of the Republic of Venice, and is currently spoken by about two million people.

English is spoken by some people.

Venetic is a now extinct language that was spoken by the indigenous people of northeastern Italy until about the 1st century B.C.
